The Office of Admissions at the Lodewick Visitors Center has openings for two roles.
These positions are only open to undergraduate students at the Storrs campus.
Husky Visitor Information Program (VIP): The VIP role is primarily responsible for conducting all aspects of the daily campus tours at the Storrs Campus and at other Admissions-related events. Staff also work the reception desks, greeting guests and answering the phone, at both the Lodewick Visitors Center and the Tasker Building (Undergraduate Admissions.) Daily campus tours are typically offered Monday-Saturday during day-time hours. Please see below for more information about weekend commitments.
Husky Insider Program: Husky Insider Program staff work to recruit and support high school applicants primarily from historically underrepresented backgrounds, including but not limited to first-generation college students and students from low-income communities. Staff in this role will lead tours for groups coming from high schools and also connect with prospective students via one-on-one virtual chats, phone calls, and other outreach events. Group tours are typically offered Monday-Saturday during day-time hours, and one-on-one outreach initiatives often occurs on weekday evenings. Commitment: Both positions require a minimum commitment of 9 hours per week for the first academic year, but if interested, staff may work up to 20 hours per week. Paid training will occur for approximately 8 weeks during the fall and spring semesters (not over break) in November through February. Staff must commit to a minimum of 5 weekend shifts per semester.
Qualifications: Qualified applicants should have strong interpersonal and customer service skills, a dedication to UConn, and a commitment to recruiting the next class of Huskies. Applicants who are actively involved on campus and have interpersonal and strong public speaking skills are preferred. This position is open only to undergraduate students. Staff must abide by tour guide standards and dress code, which typically consists of a provided staff shirt or other UConn top and solid color pants or jeans.

Applicants with involvement with the Husky Ambassador Program will be given priority in the hiring process. Observing a daily campus tour is entirely optional and will not impact your application candidacy. However, if you’d like to experience a tour, you’re welcome to attend one before your interview.
